Browser Extension Claims

To submit a reimbursement claim as part of the Trust Wallet Browser Extension WASM vulnerability disclosure, please read the following instructions and complete the form below. Note that claims are subject to review and verification1, 5. For more details on who is affected by the issue and FAQs, please refer to our guide here.

Collect required information

This process is indended for users impacted by the Trust Wallet browser extension WASM issue. The following information will be used to verify your claim eligibility. All claims are subject to review by the Trust Wallet team and submission of a claim does not guarantee a reimbursement will be made.

Address of your impacted wallet
This can be found by clicking the "Receive" button in the Trust Wallet browser extention. Then select the asset that you are making a claim for, and copy the wallet address by clicking the button below the QR code to copy your address.
Evidence of address ownership
Screenshot the Trust Wallet mobile app or browser extension showing of your wallet address. This can be found by tapping the "Receive" button and taking a screen capture of the address screen featuring a QR code.
Transaction hash(es) of stolen funds
You can find this by clicking directly on the transaction from the Trust Wallet browser extension or by visiting a blockchain explorer such as Etherscan or BSC Scan and searching your wallet address.
Recipient address
The address funds stolen from your wallet were sent to.
Government-issued ID document2
E.g. passport, driver's license etc. that shows your full name and photograph. This information will only be used for the purposes of processing and validating claims and will be deleted at the conclusion of our claims process. Claims submitted without this information will not be processed.
Police report (suggested)2
Official documentation that theft of funds has been reported to local law-enforcement.

Complete the claim form

Submit the requested information and documents from step #1 into the form by clicking the blue "Submit Claim" button in the lower right corner of this page. If you do not see the button, try turning off any ad-blocking extensions in your browser. Providing additional verification details such as a list of other devices you used the impacted address may help expedite the verification process.

All claims reviews and verification are subject to criteria outlined here.

If you are making a claim for gas fees3, 4 needed to relocate funds from an affected address to a new address, please provide transaction hashes of your outgoing transfers in the "Transaction Hash(es)" section of the claim form. You may enter N/A for "Suspected Hacker Address".

Stop using the vulnerable wallet

To set up a new wallet, click on "Settings", click on your wallet, and then select "Add new wallet". To create a new wallet on the Trust Wallet mobile app, follow the instructions here.

1Claim eligiblity will be determined by an analysis of if the address meets the parameters outlined in the incident disclosure. Any decision regarding a reimbursement will be made in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations that apply to Trust Wallet, which includes, but is not limited to, the regulations of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Trust Wallet reserves the right to deny a reimbursement request if it violates these laws and regulations. This disclaimer is applicable to all users of Trust Wallet who wish to initiate a reimbursement request. By participating in the reimbursement process, the user acknowledges that any decision made by Trust Wallet regarding the distribution of funds shall be final and binding. Users also acknowledge that each designated address will be eligible for one distribution of funds, which will be considered final once the funds have been distributed into the designated address.
2These data are collected for compliance and fraud detection purposes related to user claims pursuant to the browser extension WASM incident only. All collected data will be deleted within 30 days of the end of the claim period.
3Gas fee reimbursements will be paid out in stablecoin (USDT or USDC) for eligible outbound transactions from affected wallets. Gas value will be based on the USD price on the date of the transaction.
4Reimbursments will be paid via the BNB Chain network (BEP-20) unless specified otherwise.
5Affected balances that are less than the network fee needed to transct it and assets with no price information on CoinMarketCap are ineligible for reimbursement. Funds that are staked or locked in a protocol or otherwise not in the affected wallet as of Apr. 22, 2023 7:00 UTC are not included/covered by this process.
