TLDR: Unstaking your TRX (Tron) using Trust Wallet is a relatively simple process, however in rare instances, you might encounter an unstaking error. This guide will show you how to unstake your TRX and what to do if you encounter an unstaking erorr.
Normal Unstaking Process
The normal unstaking process for TRX (Tron) works like this:
Open Trust Wallet and select TRX (Tron).
Select the staked amount.
Select “Unstake”.
Choose the amount to unstake then select “Continue”.
Review the details of your transaction and then select “Confirm” to complete the transaction.
This is a simple process, and typically you just need to wait for the TRX to unstake once the transaction is submitted (which is 14 days). If you don’t get any error messages, there’s nothing left to do. Simply wait for the TRX to appear in your main wallet balance in 14 days.
However, in rare instances the staking process does not complete, and you may get an error like the one below:
If you encounter this error, continue reading below for instructions on how to unstake your TRX.
How to Unstake TRX After Getting An Unstaking Error
If you get an unstaking transaction error, the process to unstake is similar to the normal process, with a couple of simple additional steps. Here’s how you do it:
Select TRX (Tron).
Choose the “Receive” button.
Copy your TRX address.
Go to https://tronscan.org/ and then paste the TRX address that you copied into the main search field and select enter or done.
The results for your address on the blockchain will appear.
Scroll down the page and locate the “Staking Details” tab.
Ensure the “Stake 2.0” option is selected and locate the “Staked Amount”. This amount is important because you need to enter it in the next steps.
Go back to your Trust Wallet and select the staked amount for TRX.
Choose “Unstake”.
Note the “Staked Amount” from the tronscan.org page, and enter that exact amount in the Amount field in Trust Wallet. Ensure to enter the decimals as well. These amounts must match. For instance, if the Staked Amount on the tronscan.org page is 9.56 then enter 9.56 in the Amount to unstake in your Trust Wallet as well.
Once the amount is entered, select Continue, review the details and confirm the transaction.
Note, since you’re unstaking the “Stake 2.0” amount, this amount will take 14 to days fully unstake. However, we can still move to the next step and unstake the “Stake 1.0” amount as explained in the next section of this guide.
**Now that you’ve unstaked your “Stake 2.0” amount, it’s time to unstake the “Stake 1.0” amount. Follow the steps below.
Go back to your Trust Wallet and select the staked amount for TRX, if need be.
Choose “Unstake”
Choose "Max" in the Amount field to ensure you can unstake your remaining TRX.
Select Continue, review the details and confirm the transaction.
Note, since you’re unstaking the “Stake 1.0” amount, this amount will be unstaked immediately.
