Trust Wallet will end support for BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2/BEP8) tokens on both mobile app and browser extension as BNB Chain phases out BNB Beacon Chain by the end of 2024.

Important Update: Trust Wallet to Deprecate BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2/BEP8) Support

As BNB Chain prepares to sunset BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2/BEP8) by the end of 2024, Trust Wallet will soon end support for the BNB Beacon Chain and its associated BEP2/BEP8 tokens. This change affects both Trust Wallet mobile apps and the browser extension.

What This Means for Trust Wallet Users

Starting shortly, Trust Wallet mobile apps will no longer support swapping to and from BNB Beacon Chain. For the Trust Wallet browser extension, we will also remove the option to migrate from BNB Beacon Chain to BNB Smart Chain. Additionally, support for BEP2/BEP8 tokens will be deprecated across both platforms.

If you currently hold assets on the BNB Beacon Chain and find yourself unable to transfer them due to the network’s planned sunset, we have coordinated with the BNB Chain team to provide a dedicated solution available only on the Trust Wallet browser extension.

** Note:** Due to the sunset of the Beacon chain, your balance on Beacon Chain may also not be displayed correctly.

Next Steps for Users with BEP2/BEP8 Assets

  1. Download Trust Wallet Browser Extension: If you haven’t done so, you’ll need to install the Trust Wallet browser extension to use the recovery solution. You can download it here.

  2. Import Your Wallet: Open the Trust Wallet extension and import your wallet containing BEP2/BEP8 assets by using your secret phrase. This is required to access the recovery option.

  3. Access the BNB Beacon Chain Recovery dApp (Available starting December 16th - Click here for recovery your assets: Once your wallet is imported, you can connect it to the recovery dApp. This dedicated tool will be available via a mainnet URL (placeholder: mainnet URL pending release). Users can follow the instructions outlined in the BNB Chain Fusion documentation to complete the process. Here’s a quick summary of what you’ll need to do once the dApp is live:

-- Step 1: Open the BNB Beacon Chain recovery dApp in your Trust Wallet browser extension.

-- Step 2: Connect your Trust Wallet extension to the dApp using the wallet containing your BEP2/BEP8 assets.

-- Step 3: Enter the BNB Smart Chain receiver address where you’d like to receive your recovered assets.

-- Step 4: Confirm the receiver address and carefully review the details.

-- Step 5: Sign the transaction with your Trust Wallet extension to complete the recovery process.

Please Note: This solution is only available through the Trust Wallet browser extension and will not be available on Trust Wallet mobile apps.

We understand that changes like this can be challenging, and we are here to help make the transition as seamless as possible. Stay tuned to Trust Wallet updates for the final recovery dApp URL and further support details.
