We're excited to introduce QR Payments on Trust Wallet, a new way to make real-world QR payments using stablecoins, instantly, simply, and without giving up self-custody. Powered by our payments partner, QR Payments lets users initiate payments directly from their Trust Wallet while merchants receive local currency instantly in the background.
The experience is fast, familiar, and built for everyday use. There are no banks, no cards, and no off-ramps. Until now, QR payments and stablecoin usage have largely lived in separate worlds. What should feel as simple as paying with a local wallet often ended up slow, fragmented, and full of compromises.
Trust Wallet's QR Payments changes that. With Trust Wallet, users can now initiate QR payments using stablecoins by scanning a supported QR code, while merchants receive local currency instantly. There are no detours and no friction. You scan, confirm, and pay.

How QR Payments works
QR Payments is designed to feel familiar from the first use, even if you have never used stablecoins in a payment flow before. Ensure you have the latest version of the Trust Wallet app before getting started.
Trust Wallet supports QR payments across widely used local QR standards. In Vietnam, QR Payments support VietQR, Vietnam's national standard. In the Philippines, QR Payments support GCash QR and Maya QR codes. Support for additional QR formats may vary as the feature continues to be optimized.
Here's how it works:
Select the QR feature and choose to Scan QR to pay.
Scan the QR code provided by the Merchant then choose your amount.
Continue and confirm the remaining steps.
Receives your goods from the merchant.
Funds stay in your control until the moment the payment is confirmed. The full flow completes in under a minute and feels just like using any local QR payment app, with stablecoins used as part of the settlement process.
Live in Vietnam & the Philipines, built for the world
QR Payments launched first in Vietnam, one of the world's most mature QR payment markets. In Vietnam, QR codes are already woven into daily life - from cafés and street vendors to local services and utilities. Trust Wallet supports VietQR, Vietnam's national QR standard. Users can initiate payments using USDT as part of a third-party settlement process, while merchants receive Vietnamese dong (VND) instantly.
In the Philippines, QR payments are equally widespread, with GCash and Maya among the most used payment networks in the country. Trust Wallet supports GCash QR and Maya QR codes for payments. Users pay with stablecoins, while merchants receive Philippine pesos (PHP) instantly. Payments are supported between PHP 100 and PHP 49,999, and the feature supports up to two decimal places (e.g., 110.50 PHP).
It's important to note that digital assets are not legal tender in either market. Merchants are always paid in local currency. Trust Wallet is building QR Payments as a global capability and plans to expand to more countries where QR payments and stablecoin usage already go hand in hand - including markets across Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America, and beyond.
Making stablecoins work in everyday life
Across the world, millions of people already live in a QR-first economy. They scan to pay for coffee, groceries, transport, street food, and utilities. At the same time, millions of those same users hold stablecoins as a trusted way to store and move value.
Until now, those two worlds haven't connected. Using stablecoins in everyday payment flows often meant detouring through banks, cards, or custodial platforms, creating friction and experiences that felt unfamiliar.
QR Payments with Trust Wallet closes that gap.
