Secara Singkat

A wallet address is a unique string of letters and numbers that identifies a destination on a blockchain — like an account number for crypto — derived from your public key so anyone can send funds to it without seeing your private key.

What Is a Wallet Address?

A wallet address is a unique string of letters and numbers that identifies a destination on a blockchain — the crypto equivalent of an account number. It's derived from your public key, so you can share it freely: anyone can send funds to an address, but only the holder of the matching private key can spend from it.

Each blockchain has its own address format. A Bitcoin address looks different from an Ethereum address, which looks different from a Solana address — and sending an asset to an address on the wrong network is a classic way funds get stranded.

How Addresses Work

  1. Your wallet generates a private key and computes a public key from it.

  2. The address is derived from the public key through hashing and encoding — a one-way process.

  3. Funds sent to the address are recorded on-chain against it.

  4. Spending them requires a signature from the private key; the address alone reveals nothing secret.

Address Safety Basics

  • Verify before sending: check the first and last characters and a section in the middle — scams like address poisoning and clipboard malware rely on look-alikes.

  • Match the network: confirm the asset and the address belong to the same chain.

  • Use QR codes or a saved address book instead of retyping or copying from history.

  • Send a small test amount first for large transfers.

Wallet Addresses and Trust Wallet

Trust Wallet generates addresses for 100+ blockchains from a single secret phrase, and its address book lets you save verified recipients so routine sends don't depend on copy-paste. The send screen shows the full destination address for a final check before you sign.
