What Happened
Kiln announced it had identified a potential compromise in its infrastructure. As a precaution, it began the orderly exit of all Ethereum (ETH) validators. The process takes 10 to 42 days depending on the validator, after which withdrawals are finalized by Ethereum’s protocol rules (up to 9 additional days). Validators continue earning rewards while exiting. Kiln also paused access to some services while reinforcing its infrastructure.
Kiln confirmed that client assets remain secure, with no indication of loss beyond the previously disclosed Solana-related incident involving SwissBorg.
What This Means for Trust Wallet Users
ETH Pooled Staking: Withdrawals remain available. Processing follows Ethereum’s protocol timelines (10–42 days for validator exit plus up to 9 days for finalization).
Native Staking (via Kiln): Deposits are paused for SOL, TRX, ATOM, INJ, NEAR, OSMO, ZETA, ADA, EVMOS, and KAVA. Withdrawals follow each network’s normal timelines.
Stablecoin Earn: In Trust Wallet, deposits and withdrawals are currently paused while Kiln runs maintenance checks. Funds remain in protocol vaults and continue to earn rewards.
Other Products Unaffected: Staking products not powered by Kiln — including BNB, DOT, SUI, LUNC, STARS, CRO, KSM, STRD, XTZ, JUNO, AKT, BLD, AXL, and SEI — continue operating as usual.
