Important Update: Recover BEP2/BEP8 Assets in Trust Wallet Browser Extension
Share post
In Brief
After Trust Wallet ended the support for BNB Beacon Chain (BEP2/BEP8) tokens, following BNB Chain’s phases-out of the BNB Beacon Chain in December 2024, we’re now supporting BEP2/BEP8 Assets holders with Token Recovery dApp access in our Browser Extension.
What This Means for Trust Wallet Users
With the permanent shutdown of the BNB Beacon Chain, Trust Wallet no longer supports BEP2/BEP8 assets for any activities. If you hold assets on the BNB Beacon Chain and are unable to transfer them due to the network's closure, we have coordinated with the BNB Chain team to provide a dedicated solution. This solution is now available exclusively through the Trust Wallet Browser Extension.
Note: Due to the sunset of the Beacon chain, your balance on Beacon Chain may also not be displayed correctly
Next Steps for Users with BEP2/BEP8 Assets

Import Your Wallet: Open the Trust Wallet extension and import your wallet containing BEP2/BEP8 assets by using your secret phrase. This is required to access the recovery option.
Access the BNB Beacon Chain Recovery dApp (Click here for recovery your assets: Once your wallet is imported, you can connect it to the recovery dApp. This dedicated tool is available via a mainnet URL. Users can follow the instructions outlined in the BNB Chain Fusion documentation to complete the process. Here’s a quick summary of what you need to do:
Step 1: Open the BNB Beacon Chain recovery dApp
Step 2: Connect your Trust Wallet Browser Extension to the dApp using the wallet containing your BEP2/BEP8 assets.
Step 3: Select the BEP2/BEP8 assets to recover and click the “Recover Now” button to initiate the recovery process.
Step 4: Enter the BNB Smart Chain receiver address where you’d like to receive your recovered assets.
Step 5: Confirm the receiver address and carefully review the details.
